Our Work

Bockingfold

We were contacted by a private customer to create a number of bespoke items for their home. They knew JP Joinery could handle the diverse items needed, and have the skills and equipment to fulfil their vision in the required timeframes.

We built and fitted, Skirting Boards, Architraves, Plinth Blocks, New Front Door, All Wardrobes, Bed Frame, Games Room Cabinets, Jacuzzi Steps & External Gates

We used Iroko wood for the external elements due to it’s stability, durability, and strength. It’s natural oils resist insects, which contribute to it’s long life.

The wardrobes were Accoya wood, which is a stunning but durable choice. It outperforms Oak, does not rot, swell or shrink and responds well to paint/stains.

Tulip wood was used for the Skirting & Architrave, it provides a nice finish, is machinable efficiently and has good mechanical properties.

All our timber comes from sustainable sources, it’s important that what we take from the planet, is replaced.

The work took 9 months split across different phases, to ensure we worked around the customers schedule and allowed time for our craftsmen to work without hinderance or being rushed.

We used a solid Mortice and Tenon external products for longevity and structural security. The internal elements were Stub Tenon joints. It’s vital that the wood, ironmongery and process match the use and location of the finished product.

All second-fix products were primed and hand-painted on site to the clients specification, all carcases had a Full Factory Finish (FFF). This ensures durability and reliability over it’s lifetime. We take pride in our work, so it’s important we finish the surfaces correctly, which also brings out the beauty of the wood.

Dell Cottage

A beautiful, historic cottage in the heart of the Weald of Kent, which required a selection of works. These were cosmetic, but also highly functional in retaining heat, protecting from moisture and frost, and keeping the property maintained.

This project took 13 months in phases, allowing work to be completed around the client’s requirements and weather permitting.

When working with timber windows and doors, the measurements and build must be millimetre-perfect, there’s minimal room for error (unlike with uPVC). We specialise in these products, our teams have 25+ years experience working on these.

The windows were Accoya wood, which is a stunning but durable choice. It does not rot, swell or shrink and responds well to paint/stains. Being weatherproof is key.

We crafted the Windows, Bifolds, Doors, Wardrobes, Bathroom Airing Cupboard & Stairs.

We used a Birch Ply carcass where required, it has a high strength & stability, it’s resistant to twisting and warping and even has a nice grain finish. This is important when building strong carcases, and even more so in wet-zones.

The stairs were build from a wood that everyone knows and loves - European Oak. With it’s desirable organic wood grain, effortless strength, longevity and highly-resistant nature, it’s a solid choice.
